BIM now available
Building Information Modelling is an intelligent 3D model-based process that assists architects, engineers and construction (AEC) professionals to design, create and maintain buildings and assets more efficiently by working effectively together, underpinned by defined processes and digital technologies.
BIM uses 3 dimensional computer models that not only provide geometric properties representing the physical characteristics of the products but functional data such as detection zones to enable the product to be positioned correctly. I also it embeds key product and asset data such as thermal and fire performance.
BIM brings together all of the information about every component of a building in one place and makes the information available for any purpose thus reducing the risks of costly mistakes and discrepancies.
Stormking have embraced the new format by developing methods to provide BIM models at each stage of the design and manufacturing process for both new and legacy product. This will give architects and designers the opportunity to fully explore the product and refine its integration into the build process. The models will also be available for enhanced CGI and visualisation purposes.
Stormking can provide BIM models in 3 industry recognised file formats:
- .RFA – Revit family files for easy integration directly into Autodesk REVIT
- .ADSK – An Autodesk file for backward compatibility with older versions of Autodesk REVIT
- .IFC – the industry standard format to support other BIM authoring tools.
All files will be provided to match BS1192 / PAS1192 naming conventions with geometry to match Level of detail 4 and level of information LOI4 or LOI6.
