Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) at Stormking
Stormking has now received two independently verified Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), becoming the first UK GRP manufacturer to do so.
Our EPDs cover our insulated and uninsulated products in accordance with EN 15804:2012+A2:2019 & BRE Global Scheme Document SD207.
These are the latest industry-recognised accreditations we have received, following on from our ISO Certificates and BBA Accreditations.

What does our EPD achievement mean?
At Stormking, we have been on a continuous journey to improve the environmental performance of our manufacturing, and this is at the forefront of everything we do.
With sustainable construction being at the heart of our mission, our products are practices reflect this, and our EPD achievement is just the latest example of this.
While EPDs are not yet compulsory in the UK, the market is becoming increasingly self-regulating, with manufacturers looking to demonstrate their environmental responsibility.
For example, EPDs are often required within projects seeking green building certifications such as BES 6001.
With standards such as ISO 14025 and EN 15804 providing the framework for EPDs, our EPDs now allow companies to demonstrate their building materials are compliant with the UK’s stringent environmental regulations.

EPDs Explained
What is an EPD?
An Environmental Product Declaration is generated based on the data gathered through Life Cycle Assessments and is a document that transparently communicates the environmental performance or impact of any product(s) over its lifetime.
Within the construction industry, EPDs support the reduction of carbon emissions by making comparisons possible between different materials and products which can help customers to choose a more sustainable option.
How are EPDs prepared?
EPDs are prepared based on data gathered through LCAs.
A Life Cycle Assessment is a detailed analysis of how a product or service impacts the environment from the moment of its creation to the time it’s no longer used.
LCAs measure the entire life cycle of the product, including:
- Upstream processes:
- Extraction and production of raw materials
- Refining of materials
- Core processes
- Manufacturing
- Downstream processes
- Usage, operation and maintenance
- Recycling or landfill
