40 years of Stormking.

When we first opened our doors in Polesworth back in 1985, we were a team of ten. A small crew with big ambitions. Most new businesses don’t make it to a decade but we weren’t most businesses.

Today, our team is over 400 strong. Spread across multiple sites. Trusted by housebuilders across the UK. And still united by the same thing that got us here: a shared purpose.

40 years of success, behind one clear purpose.

To build new and better ways of working.

To raise standards and never stop raising them.

It’s not just an achievement it’s a team effort

Our journey has been shaped by hundreds of people, each with their own story. Some have spent decades with us. Others are just getting started. But they’re all part of the same legacy one of passion, commitment, and pride in what we build together.

People like Chris Mansfield, who’s been with us since 1994 or Clive Brindley, who joined as a general operative in 1998 and rose through the ranks.

It’s like a family, you know. You care about the business. You become part of it, through good times and bad. You stay.

I wanted to grow. I became a team leader in 12 months. Then a foreman. Then a site manager. That mindset to keep improving it’s part of who we are.

Growth through people, purpose and partnership

Of course, growth also comes from fresh perspectives. When Craig Cherry joined as MD in 2021, he saw huge opportunity to take Stormking to the next level. People like Kirsty Barratt, who started on the shop floor in 2013 and has worked her way up to become a senior buyer.

I joined with a vision to grow our market share, bring new products to market, and find new talent to lead our future.

It’s been a journey of personal and professional development. Stormking gave me the space to grow and the encouragement to keep going.

The truth is, we wouldn’t be here without our people

But we also wouldn’t be here without the partners, clients, and collaborators who’ve grown alongside us. Over the years, we’ve built something bigger than a company we’ve built a community with a common goal:

As we look ahead to the next 40 years, the names and faces will change. But one thing won’t: our purpose.
